I’ve received reports that Ellen is in talks to star in the new psychological drama Blackwell. It has been reported that Ellen will portray the infamous Nellie Bly, the first female investigative journalist who fakes her insanity in order to enter Blackwell’s Island asylum as an undercover to crack her case. Little does she know, it’s nearly impossible to get out once you’re in. This sounds like it’s going to be an awesome movie and I can’t wait to see it!

‘Hard Candy’ to hit Blu Ray in October.

One of Ellen’s older roles as Haley Stark, a girl who tortures a man she believes is a pedophile, is scheduled to hit blu ray this October. Thanks to High Def Digest we can share this news with you.

Specs haven’t been revealed yet, but supplements for the psychological thriller ‘Hard Candy,’ starring Ellen Page and Patrick Wilson, will include: Two audio commentaries with filmmakers and actors, Deleted and extended scenes, Making-of documentary, and Controversial Confection featurette

Nyswaner adapting

Ron Nyswaner will adapt Cynthia Wade’s 2007 Oscar-winning short doc “Freeheld” into a feature film starring Ellen Page. James D. Stern’s Endgame Entertainment is financing.

Stern will produce with Double Feature Films’ Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher and Vie Entertainment’s Kelly Bush and Cynthia Wade. Endgame’s Doug Hansen and Adam Del Deo are exec producers.

Wade’s “Freeheld” tells the true story of New Jersey car mechanic Stacie Andree and her domestic partner Laurel Hester, a police detective who tries to secure pension benefits for her partner after she’s diagnosed with a terminal illness, only to be turned down by Republican legislators.

A DVD release date for Ellen’s movie Peacock has been set for April 20th. Unfortunately, they have decided to make this a straight to DVD release with no theatrical showings.

Bliss tries out as Babe Ruthless for a team named the Hurl Scouts, where she hopes to skate alongside the likes of Maggie Mayhem (Kristen Wiig) and Smashley Simpson (Drew Barrymore). The movie also features Marcia Gay Harden as Bliss’ disapproving mother, Jimmy Fallon who is a cheesy hungover announcer named Hot Tub Johnny, Zoe Bell (skate name: Bloody Holly), Eve, and Juliette Lewis (skate name: Iron Maven) play for the Hurl Scout’s rivals, the schoolgirl-themed Holy Rollers.

Filmed in what seems like a series of dirty apartments, shoddy back alleys, and other various Los Angeles landmarks, this homemade music video features Juno’s Ellen Page delivering a faux Jewel-meets-Shakira vocal performance. Alia Shawkat—famous for playing Portia de Rossi’s daughter Maebe on Arrested Development, she appears as the damsel in distress who sits in her window peering at what looks like a forlorn Ellen on the street below.
